Jesus and Peter fishing painting | Olga Bakhtina

Jesus and Peter fishing [ 2017, oil on canvas, 120x90 cm, SOLD, Brisbane ]

For a few years while my children were young, Wednesday was the highlight of my week. On Wednesday there was Junior School Chapel Service and parents were welcome to join. It was wonderful to see how children were learning Christian values not only from Bible readings, but also through songs, little plays and stories. They took the most active part in it. And what a great way to unite the school: children, parents and teachers. Now my kids are in  High School, and I miss my good old Wednesdays.

“Jesus and Peter fishing” was inspired by one of these mornings, a Bible song, lots of sparkling eyes full of joy and happiness, willingness to be good and better. In the simplified lines and fresh pure colors I tried to reflect this atmosphere – a bit naïve, happy and very sincere, possible only in childhood.

The original painting is SOLD, but this image is available as limited edition high-quality Fine Art print on archival cotton rag paper. Please email olchik_b@yahoo.com me for the sizes and prices.
