The painting was inspired by my studies of the Early Renaissance, especially Piero della Francesca. I was deeply touched by the series of frescos ‘Discovery of the True Cross in Arezzo when I was traveling in Italy a couple of years ago. Since then, he probably became one of my most favorite painters. I even wrote a research paper on Piero’s use of mathematics and geometry in his art as a part of my History of Art studies at the University of Queensland. In this painting, I tried to express the tranquility of the prayer through the calm pearly colors so much loved by Piero della Francesca.
As an alternative to the original painting, this image is available as limited edition high-quality Fine Art print on archival cotton rag paper. Please email olchik_b@yahoo.com me for the sizes and prices.
