The Last Dreamers
I once read that a writer can be a teacher, a destroyer, or a magician. I believe a painter has only one true choice—to be a magician.
My new series, The Last Dreamers, is a collection of paintings where each work tells its own story. It’s an invitation into a dreamy world of harmony—a quiet civilisation of peace and serenity, where worries vanish and dreams are free to bloom.
These paintings feature figures immersed in landscapes that become an artistic playground for exploring geometry and color relationships, all while cultivating a sense of adventure and balance.
Nature is portrayed as a nurturing, living presence—tender, intimate, lush, and magical. Pomegranates, zebras, horses, dogs, birds, and people are woven together into a rich tapestry that evokes a haunting, layered beauty.
Yet at its core, this series is about humanity. It’s about what it means to be human, and what truly matters: love, romance, the preservation of childhood dreams, a belief in miracles, the thrill of adventure, and the pursuit of harmony. It is a visual feast for the optimist—an homage to the strength, courage, and enduring spirit of humankind.
The nudes in these works are not about eroticism—quite the opposite. They represent innocence and purity, a childlike simplicity in the face of life’s complex adult themes: love, friendship, the pursuit of dreams. Nudity here is the most natural and honest—yet most vulnerable—state of being. Perhaps that’s why nudity appears so often in religious art: it symbolizes humanity’s unguarded connection to the Garden of Eden, to our Creator, in its purest form.
Artistically, the series is a search for harmony through the balance of color and geometric form. It’s also about developing a metaphorical visual language—a kind of stylised, childlike storytelling. Combining classical techniques with a contemporary twist, this series aims to give each image the feeling of a parable, imbued with the grace and grandeur of Renaissance frescoes.
While open to interpretation, the works are rich with symbolism. In Adam and Eve in Pomegranate Garden, zebras—with their black and white stripes—symbolize the complexity of life, while the pomegranate represents fertility and power.
The Offering is a joyful celebration of love and the beauty of life: Adam and Eve offer a pear, a traditional symbol of affection, to the peacock—a creature of protection, good fortune, and immortality.
In Search of the Golden Sphinx and The Discovery of the Golden Sphinx are love songs to the dreamers—those brave enough to follow their hearts and forge their own paths.
The message behind this collection is simple and clear: Live. Love. Dream. Keep your inner child alive, and always leave room for magic.
